SIMS X Hannah Stouffer

Sims commissioned Oakland based illustrator Hannah Stouffer to design the 10/11 Men’s Protocol and Women’s Heiress boards. This is the second installment of the Sims Artist Series collaboration with a well known artist. Born in Aspen, CO, Hannah has strong ties to the snowboard community and her work really communicates the essence of the Sims brand. Her art brings a fresh perspective to the Sims line shown in the vibrancy of the “Winters Mountain” piece contrasted against the white top sheet of the Heiress board.

Keep Evolving... The Grand Central Station iShares art installation.

The iShares art installation in Grand Central Station has come down, but it was a great success and we're proud to have been a part of it.  The original artwork will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to Uncommon Schools to benefit their arts education programs. Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages outstanding urban charter public schools (in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts) that close the achievement gap and prepare low-income students to graduate from college.  If you weren't able to see the art on display, then here's a glimpse of what you missed:
From Top to Bottom: Joel Nakamura, Martha Rich, Terri Fry Kasuba, Calef Brown, Hannah Stouffer, Craig LaRotonda.
You can view more from these artists in our gallery space.

Kim Rosen: Jhumpa Lahiri

[From Kim's Blog]
I have been a huge fan of Jhumpa Lahiri's writing for quite some time now. I basically love everything she has written. I think she writes in such a brutally honest way about common emotions that we can all relate to and does so in such a beautiful way. I am just about finished with "Unaccustomed Earth" and I'm loving every word. I'm so inspired in fact, that I decided to do a portrait.

Charles Glaubitz: Limited time offer...Customized ... on Twitpic

[Charles Glaubitz] In celebration of San Diego Comic con-(good thing about living in Tijuana)

I am a avid comic book reader, have been since a little kid...nothing geeks me out better than a grant morrison comic, mike mignola art, moebuis, alejandro jodorowsky and jeff lemiere who has written three great works that I have read... Essex county trilogy (must read), The nobody (graphic novel) and his comic from Vertigo comics Sweet Tooth.

It is by far one of the best reads and visuals in a while that I have seen, love the slowly intimate development of the narrative and the great expressionistic independent visual art.  check it out here:
http://jefflemire.blogspot.com/

One thing I have never done was fan art, I just had to geek out and create some fan art after I read Sweet Tooth #10...check it oout!

Charles Glaubitz creates Revulab cd art

Final art sumi ink, wash digital.

Final art sumi ink, wash digital.

Final art sumi ink, wash digital.

Had a blast making these, always wanted to project Tijuana into a distant future. The concept for the cd art was based on actual experiences partying in revolution avenue in the early 90's, when wendsdays was college night and the street was alive with young people having a good time, and good music...and getting drunk.
