Santiago Uceda - AI-AP International Motion Awards

We recently learned that Santiago Uceda was selected as a winner in the first annual American Illustration - American Photography (AI-AP) International Motion Art Awards (IMAA).  Santiago's winning entry was a commercial that he worked on for Oregon State University's economic impact, and his piece was 1 of only 46 that were selected in this inaugural IMAA juried competition, which "celebrates photographers, illustrators, and designers who make their work move in all media".  Congratulations, Santiago!

Terri Fry Kasuba on The AI-AP Archive

We just learned that these two illustrations by Terri Fry Kasuba have been chosen to appear on the American Illustration juried web gallery, The AI-AP Archive. Only 331 illustrations were selected out of about 8,000 submissions, and these will appear permanently on the website.  This is great news - Congrats, Terri!

Christophe Lopez-Huici: illustration and claymation

Jennifer Vaughn Artist Agency welcomes French-born, New York resident, Christophe Lopez-Huici to the group! With clients such as Google, Christie's, Pfizer, Atlantic Records, Bill Plympton, as well as a large range of smaller music labels and independent music magazines, Christophe brings yet another layer of style, skills, and personality to the team.

His illustration approach has a hint of the very traditional French 'bande dessinées' (cartoon), while retaining a clear unique personality and presence:

Some of his animation / claymation projects include a 7 minute-long animated sequence for the documentary Mamachas Del Ring. The movie has been screened in many festivals worldwide, including Slamdance and the Margaret Mead film festival in NY. His own animated short, Mondo Claymo has been in festivals all over the country and was shown at the Festival de Cannes's Short Film Corner in May 2011 --- here is a peek:




You can also check out Christophe's super-cool music magazine, Bananas Magazine, which he created collaboratively with 4 friends in late 2009 – it is now distributed in 12 countries!

Lucie Rice poster illustration for a good cause!

Lucie Rice will be participating in the upcoming Nashville Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society, and she created this new piece of art to help with her fundraising efforts.  Anyone who makes a donation on Lucie's behalf will receive a signed 11"x17" poster designed by Lucie and featuring her inspiring new illustration - great art for a great cause!

Dave Stevenson: The Art of the Map at the Walt Disney Family Museum

"The Art of the Map" is a solo exhibition of Dave Stevenson's map illustrations hosted by The Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio of San Francisco. The September 13th opening reception was a great event, and we want to thank all of Dave's clients, friends and family who were able to join us. The show will be on display in the lower lobby of the museum until January 2011, and it is open to the public.
