Chris Buzelli illustration for NPR

Chris Buzelli, an avid NPR listener, was invited to participate in their 2012 calendar. Every year NPR chooses 12 artists to illustrate each month of the year. Chris's piece was based on his favorite RadioLab episode called "New Nice" which was about a Russian geneticist who domesticated the fox. After several generations of selective breeding, he was successful in creating a gentler, human-friendly pet fox.
Keep an eye out for this new 2012 calendar which is available for purchase from NPR.

Robin Moline - The Joys of Christmas

Robin Moline created this amazing winter landscape for Guideposts Magazine's "The Joys of Christmas 2011".  This is their annual special issue, for which Robin created last year's cover illustration.  Just looking at these images gets us into the holiday spirit, .... or perhaps it plainly makes us want to start a snow ball fight!  ;)

Cathie Bleck illustrates a Nestlé Cookbook

Cathie Bleck recently worked on a Nestlé piece through J. Walter Thompson, in Akron, OH. The project is a beautiful cookbook targeted at the Latino community, is beautifully printed – so well indeed that you you can feel the raised ink which feels like raised velvet highlighting the intricate line work. The cookbook has a photo pocket that each family can slip their own family photo inside on the cover.  Inside it is filled with wonderful Latin traditions which are also common to many cultures as suggested recipes and a place to write your own favorite recipes, memories and traditions.

The book exclaims on the first page:  "Traditions are like threads that weave families together, creating an extraordinary fabric of many colors"

"Celebrations We Share" is a gift from the Nestlé family to yours.  This book is meant to be a keepsake enjoyed year after year, and Nestle is proud to help your family savor these very special times together.

Musicians Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings Illustrated by Kim Rosen

Wonderful portrait of Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings by artist Kim Rosen.

From Wikipedia:
"Gillian Welch (/ˈɡɪliən ˈwɛltʃ/; born October 2, 1967) is an American singer-songwriter. She performs with her musical partner, guitarist David Rawlings. Their sparse and dark musical style, which combines elements of Appalachian music, Bluegrass, and Americana, is described by The New Yorker as "at once innovative and obliquely reminiscent of past rural forms"

Chris Buzelli illustration for Reader's Digest

This new Chris Buzelli illustration was for Reader's Digest Asia. It was a true story about a man named Mike who was kidnapped and buried alive for 5 days. Ants were biting his hands and eyelids while he was buried in small box in the ground. He lost 23 pounds but was eventually rescued by a inquisitive cop.

Kim Rosen illustrated a great series called the Many Moods of Pregnancy for Today's Parent Magazine. We released the first three last Friday - below are the final three

In Her own words from her blog:
