Mariya Paskovsky's Nuit de Noel

Here is the latest illustration in Mariya Paskovsky's series based on fragrances.  The inspiration for this piece is the classic fragrance, "Nuit de Noel", which was created by Caron and launched in 1922. And how timely, given that today is Christmas Eve!

Lucie Rice - Unplug & Play!

Here's an idea for a last minute holiday gift: super fun book of games that Lucie Rice worked on earlier this year, titled  Unplug and Play by Brad Berger.

The idea of the book is for people to put down their phones, step away from their computers, and sit down together to play games that don't require any modern technology - just good old fashioned pen and paper - what a concept!

Lucie illustrated the entire book, and she also designed the layout.

Now go play!

Mariya Paskovsky's fragrant illustrations

Mariya Paskovsky has been working on a series of lovely illustrations based on fragrance families.  She was inspired by her husband who is a perfumer, and here's is how she describes the inspiration:

"The story behind these works is that my husband loves, collects, makes, buys, smells, gives to me and all our friends and relatives PERFUME!  Being a visual person who is constantly exposed to different kinds of scent: oriental, spicy, floral, woody, etc, I started to somewhat visualize these various scents.  I saw them as different, beautiful and mysterious girls - different kinds of girls who wear those perfumes/scents."

Gorgeous, Mariya!  We can't wait to see more as the series develops!

Santiago Uceda's phobias

Santiago Uceda created this piece on phobias for a group show called "Flesh, Blood & Data".  The show featured a collection of infographics, and the theme was based on the idea that information designers go through a process to gather content, synthesize data, and then weave their findings into cohesive stories.  Interesting!

Lucie Rice for Belmont University

Lucie Rice was commissioned by Belmont University to create an illustration for their 2014 admissions materials.  The illustration highlights prominent buildings from around the university campus.  The client liked Lucie's work so much that they asked her to do a winter version of the piece to use on their holiday cards!

Livia Cives for Deloitte University Press

Here's a great new piece that Livia Cives recently created for our friends over at Deloitte University Press.  The article is about how government alone cannot make much of a change in social problems, but when government collaborates with groups outside of the government, changes can be made.  The author refers to these people or groups as "wavemakers", and Livia came up with the perfect visual to illustrate just that.  Nice work, Livia!
